I shed tears of joy last night and then went out on my porch and watched the neighborhood explode (including fireworks). And when I flipped on the TV this morning and saw Obama, I once again got teary-eyed.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amy Says:
I stayed up late to watch the election and was completely surprised about some of the larger states that Obama won. How cool (and respectful) was McCain’s speech!? Congratulations to all Americans who got out and voted - you’ve got some great years ahead of you!
PS. That picture says it all!

Thank you Amy! For once I’m proud of this country too!
I picked this picture - instead of just one of our WONDERFUL 44th President because as you said, it does say it all. Her face was what mine was when CNN projected Obama the winner. Still gives me chills to think of that moment…
WONDERFUL!
Karen Says:
Sitting thousands of miles away, I was so ecstatic…what a wonderful man he is and what a wonderful speech he gave…he has given hope to the whole world.
How wonderful and exciting!
cousin sister amy Says:
Still speechless and choked up, even this morning. Woke up and thought that something seemed good and then remembered last night. I’m so thrilled that our kids (and us, too) actually get a real role model and leader as a president…
Shannon Says:
This morning, listening to NPR, when I first heard them say the words “President Obama” I cried like a baby. I think it took until then to really, really sink in. He’s here to stay!! There are just so many reasons today to be proud of our country.
(Breathtaking picture, by the way.)
