2010 turned out to be such a yawner. Nothing happened.
But as I learned in Blogging School (which is right after you graduate from Mommy School) just like the Thanksgiving post, I’m required to do a “year in review”.
In January; I attended my first, and so far only, blogging conference. At Cupcake I made friendships with amazing women that lasted throughout the year and hopefully for a long time to come.
In February; my whole life changed in a matter of two weeks, as I got engaged to my best friend and was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
In March; I turned 38, gave up all refined sugar and lost my first 5 pounds.
In April; my fiancé moved in and I overcame my fear to audition for Listen To Your Mother.
In May; I Listened To My Mother. An experience I’ll never forget.
In June; the wedding started to become a reality as I got my dress, had engagement pictures taken and with my cousin and Aunt in town, our entire wedding party had a the world’s best Wedding Party party.
In July; Ben began to call Matt, “Dad” and my diabetes was diagnosed as “controlled”.
In August; Matt and I bought a new car and celebrated one year together.
In September; all the wheels fell off my wagon. Insomnia, depression, and a mini nervous breakdown ensued.
In October; I found my mind in the lost and found, and thereby got my shit together. It wasn’t easy.
In November; we joined the YMCA and began my exercise addiction where I now work out 4-5 times a week. Thirty pounds lost. And counting.
In December; I looked back at the year now behind me and was grateful for all of the ups and down that 2010 brought.
2011, I’m ready for you….
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and a merry New Year.
Please be safe, thanks for reading and I’ll see you in January.

Becky, You’ve had quite a year…some bad, but mostly amazingly good. I’m so happy for you! 2011 is shaping up to be wonderful for you, Matt and Ben and you totally deserve it. You’re wonderful and you kinda make me laugh. heh
P.S. Love the “card” of you and your family.
What a year you’ve had. And it looks like 2011 is going to be a great one.
Best wishes to you and yours.
“Nothing happened.” Girrrrrrrrrrl. You had better be being sarcastic.
Congrats on such an amazing 2010! Here’s the 2011 being even better.
Oh, and Merry Christmas.
Lots of high highs and low lows. And you overcame it with grace, courage and humor. Here’s to you, Matt and Ben for 2011!
Becky, you are a winner! You are brave, funny, lovable, and a really fine writer!!! I look forward to a new year of your super blogs!!!
At the rate your going I’m expecting to see “My wedding dress doesn’t fit, in a good way” posts, very soon. You handled this year with style and grace, even Septmeber, just as a princess should. I can’t wait to hear about your new, exciting adventures. Much love to you and yours. Happy Christmas today and a Happier New Year for us all.
This is so wonderful. What a difference a year makes! xo
Have enjoyed your postings ever since I found your blog. Did not realize you were so recently diagnosed. You an my “four-legged people”, Rocky, have something in common. He was diagnosed with diabetes in September. So, you both were diagnosed this year. I just wish it were as easy to control our disease as it is to control his.
He has no choice in what he eats, we control all that for him.
Wishing you the best in the coming year. I see a really good year for you, maybe not so great for Coach, and don’t ask me why I said that. I really don’t know. Just call it “psychic powers”!!!!
Let me know if it turns out to be true. I may have found my new calling
.
I am so happy for you and love your card!!
Thanks everyone!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
